“Jennings performs Houdini escape for Portland”

  

Rye Cafe & Bar Division A

Brett Scothern with 127 and Kagiso Rapaluna 55 guided Long Eaton to an impressive 240-10 as they gained a winning draw away at Collingham 184-8 for whom David Pipes 4-36 and Atif Zaldl 47 were their key performers. Following up team mate Greg Oldfield’s 65 it was Andy Dann with 6-17 who bowled Belvoir 234-8 to victory over Hoveringham 105-10. Chris Dobbie top scored with 65 as Balderton posted 204-9 and in a final ball thriller it was Gemmal Hussain 54* who saw Hyson Green CC 205-8 to the closest of wins. Attenborough 197-7 extend their lead at the top of the table as Tom Murray 80, Ben Bhabra 49* & Pete Bhabra 4-57 all performed in the win over Gedling Colliery 194-9 for whom Kyle Van Niekerk 52 & Ammar Khan with figures of 5-43 nearly caused an upset. Tom Young with 70* helped Wollaton 142-5 to a five wicket win at home to Ellerslie 140-10 in which John Wakeling hit 56 after M Iqbal 4-26 & T Naylor 3-45 had bowled the home side into a strong position.

200 Degrees Coffee Division B

Kimberley 147-8 gained a valuable win in a tense finish as they inflicted a defeat upon Plumtree 146-10 the highlight of the match being a hat trick from James Fenwick who returned figures of 4-25. Ben Ryder 55 and Sanat Kulkarni 44* set up the winning draw for West Bridgfordians 203-8 over Caythorpe 132-8 who remain in the relegation positions. Brad Moore 5-29 starred with the ball as Clifton 97-4 ran out easy winners over Thurgarton 93-10 who remain rooted at the bottom of the divisional table. Debutant Shararyar Aslam hit 201* and Farroq Ariz 56 as Nott’s Unity Casuals 308-4  gained a winning draw over league leaders Attenborough 282-6 as Will Shields 75, Sam Clulow 59, Martin Shoemaker 49 & Martin Rayner 47* all helped themselves in the run fest at The Strand. Darren Wright with 75 saw Calverton 210-9 to a final ball win over Hyson Green CC 209-10 despite the best efforts of Liqat Ali 3-27

Rothera Dowson Division C

Rob Baker blasted a superb 105 including eleven sixes and then took 3-31 as Keyworth 206-10 gained an away win over Thrumpton 164-10 who also had a fine dual performer in fifteen year old wicket keeper Jack Towers who followed up his 5 catches by hitting 40 runs. Steve Howarth top scored with 75 for Gotham 187-7 but Aiden Kerry 56 and Hamish Llewellyn 48 saw visitors Wollaton 190-6 across the winning line. A much needed win for Bramcote 194-7 as K Rehman 72* helped them overcome Radcliffe on Trent’s earlier total of 193-8 in which Jordan Harbottle had contributed a fine 48. New league leaders are Kirkby Portland 182-9 who looked to be heading for defeat after A Norris 72 & L Fazackerley 6-36 had put Bottesford 178-7 in a winning position but Joe Caunt 47* & 3-36 and number eleven batsman Michael Jennings hit 36 from just thirteen balls to seal victory.

Rex Gooding Division D

Ian Fisher’s 60* was not enough to stave of defeat as Hickling 142-9 fell to a narrow one wicket defeat against leaders Gedling & Sherwood 143-9 for whom Muhammed Sohail 45 and Ashan Raja 4-15 starred. Hucknall 164-5 keep the pressure on the leaders as George Buckthorpe 75 & Shaun Caudwell 52 contributed in the win over Underwood 163-7 who had Dan Lemon returning figures of 4-16. Nick Hobbs 82* and Ryan Duggan 55* eased Ellerslie 154-1 to a comfortable home win over Collingham 152-9. Ollie Hayes with 6-19 restricted Farndon to 143 all out in which David Adwick had top scored with 77 but in reply West Bridgfordians crumbled to 92-10 as Mark Everington took 5-21 for the victors. Timmy Berridge with 51 helped Sutton Bonnington to a total of 162-6 and in reply Nolan Benson with 42* guided Gedling Colliery 163-5 to victory with three overs to spare.

Trophy Master Division E

The trio of Martin Wier 54, Chris Howard 6-30 and Jonny Roscoe 4-26 set up a fine away win for Lenton Willoughby 126-6 over Nott’s Unity Casuals 125-10 for whom starring with the ball was Gino Taj with 5-38.  Another trio contributing were Asad Abid 50 Tom Bosworth 32 & 7-17 & Abbas Abid 30 as Basford Mill 210-6 comfortably disposed of hosts Eastwood 100-10. A match winning 87 from Ian Flood saw Bingham 246-6 take victory over Newark R & M 196-9 despite 77 from Bimal Parambil. Liam King 119 & Andrew Dallison74* saw Kirkby Portland 269-7 to an emphatic victory over Belvoir 136-10. Plumtree 100-3 closed out on victory thanks to 52 from Rob Tapp as they defeated East Bridgford 97-10 in the clash of the top two sides in the division.

GB Bookkeeping Division F

Manawar Sultan 41, Connor Richardson 4-17 & Andrew Crouch 3-8 performed with credit but Kimberley 120-10 still fell to defeat as Muhammad Niazi 52* and Zeshan Aziz 3-23 steered Gotham 123-8 to take maximum points. Yaqoob Khan 101 & Muhammed Arslan Mehmud 51 were the main contributors as Ruddington 239-10 inflicted a heavy defeat on Caunton 91-10. Shaun King with an unbeaten 61* saw second placed Caythorpe 127-4 close the gap on leaders East Leake 124-10 as the leaders recent run of poor form continued. Steve Fox hit 45 as Fiskerton posted 179-10 and although Harry Shaw scored 53 it was not enough to save Wymeswold who fell short when being bowled out for 138 in reply. A spell of 4-4 from James Lawson & 44 from Darren Smith helped Burton Joyce 128-5 to take victory over Whatton & Aslockton 124-10

BLCS Division G

50 from P Badia saw Young Lions 132-4 ease to victory as they defeated Bottesford 127-10. Flintham 130-10 with Hugo Orme 48 & Robin Cook 4-35 both in fine form still fell to an away defeat as Ross Miller 3-30, Justin Graham 3-18 and Sam Huckerby with 30 helped Lowdham 132-7 in a low scoring game. Beeston & Toton Sycamore 157-6 inflicted a heavy home defeat on West Bridgford Legion 78-10 as Jamie Bowns hit 45 and Steve Moore took 3-25. Calverton amassed 314-5 as B Armstrong 143, W Peat 83 and Derek Pickering with 46 all put the bowlers to the sword and Kinoulton closed on 184-2 in reply. Julian Tadd with 5-25 bowled Ravenshead 94-3 to victory after they had dismissed Long Eaton for 93 earlier in the afternoon.

Central College Division H

Greg Behl 41, Tom Foster 68, Toby Stanley 4-28 Stuart Grimley 39 & 4-20 were all in fine form as Southwell 220-6 comfortably defeated Balderton 132-10. Syed Hossain with 5-20 set up a fine victory for Chilwell 114-6 and then Walled Khan 36 and Mo Irshad 35 saw them home against Attenborough 111-9. J Crudgington 74, l Gommersall 46 and A Burton 5-40 all were key figures in the away win for Gedling Colliery 221-7 over Keyworth 103-10. Sam Fryson with 4-12 helped bowl out visitors Hyson Green CC for 122 but they fell well short in chasing that total as N Khan took 4-18 in their total of just 85. Two tremendous returns from Jack Fox 5-20 and Jonny Lawrence 4-5 saw Gedling & Sherwood 54-4 emphatically defeat Hucknall 53-10.

Carlton Car Centre Division J

John Frimes plundered 90 and Scott Berridge hit 49 as West Bridgfordians closed on 219-4 and in reply Newark finished on 57-9 in reply. A Kumar 93 and V Folkes with 62* guided Thurgarton 186-3 to an away win over Bramcote 182-8. Three wickets apiece from Dwayne Buckley, Neil Gelder & Allan Pearson plus 54* from Gordon Pearson helped leaders Stapleford 111-4 to an away win over Oxton 107-10. Palwak Marjan with 6-34 bowled Clifton 60-4 to victory over Hoveringham who crumbled to 59 all out earlier in the proceedings. Solid contributions from Mehtab Ahmed 75*,  Saj Akram 64, Hanzila Siddique 4-37 &  Kaleem Mohammed 3-38 benefited Madni in their home win over Cotgrave  178-10 for whom Tony Newby top scored with 71.

King Stone Products Division K

Zain Latif tore into the opposition with amazing figures of 7-5-6-5 as Wollaton 52-1 crushed visitors Thrumpton who were dismissed for 51 in just 28 overs. An unbeaten eighth wicket partnership between Graham Mcdonagh 61* and John Aldred 48* helped Kimberley 163-7 defeat previous league leaders Basford Old Boys 149-9 for whom A Cooper had hit 67 in their reply. Toby Robinson 5-4 starred for Caythorpe 130-4 and Jon Lane then hit 67 as they cruised home against Lenton & Willoughby 127-10. Ruddington 269-8 totally dominated their match against Basford Mill as they were bowled out for just 41 in reply.

Oracle Property Finance Ltd Division L

Although Mushtag Hussain hit 51 and Guy Carney took 4-51 Chilwell 132-2 still fell to defeat as man of the match Jamie Morpeth 37 & 3-43 helped Lowdham 155-9 to a fine away win. Johnathan Fawcett 74, Mark Lee 52 and Kyle Kirkland 4-31 were all instrumental for Underwood 160-10 in a home win over Kirkby Portland 121-10. C Knight 46 and G Airey 70 helped Attenborough post a respectable 214-4 but G Archer 50 & M Child 46 secured a win for home side Old Dalby 216-3 on a superb batting track. Farndon 112-4 enjoyed a four wicket away win over Radcliffe on Trent to keep them clear at the top of the table. 

Robert Whowell & Partners Division M

The quartet of Steve Cartledge 69 Gary Sanders 32, Dave Penford 3-25 & Ben Sanders 4-43 were all in fine form for Belvoir 230-9 as they inflicted a heavy defeat upon Nottingham Deaf 115-10. Whatton & Aslockton 56-10 were no match for Hucknall 57-1 in very much one sided contest. Old Dalby 344-8 controlled affairs throughout the day with Rob Herrick 74, Tom Driver 76, Ben Wass 59 Alfie Greaves 41 &3-16, Wilf Conway 35 & Will Gent 3-18 al figuring whilst Luc Chignell 47 & 4-49 figured heavily for the defeated Newark R & M 108-10. Wymeswold conceded their fixture away at Bingham.

Sign Solutions Division N

Martin Huffer 3-23 & David Hoon 4-15 reduced West Bridgfordians to 96 all out but in reply Beeston & Toton Sycamore crumbled to 52 all out with C Sibley 3-13 and JAMES Flint 2-3 taking the plaudits. A superbly crafted century from David Hedge 105* was not enough to save Fiskerton 177-9 from going down to defeat against Lambley 178-7 for whom Karlos Oakden hit 82*. Ellerslie 112-4 with Joe Mitchell top scoring with 33 gained a win over West Bridgford Legion restricting them to 111-8 earlier in the afternoon. Burton Joyce posted 201-6 with John Seymour 63, Gareth Johnson 47 & James Caig 43* all contributing and in reply Richard Drury finished on 71* as Keyworth closed on 133-3 in reply.
