Winning the toss and asking the hosts to bat first paid dividends as Gedling & Sherwood gained a valuable win closing on 84-6 in pursuit of Sutton Bonnington’s earlier total of 81-9 in which Ashan Raja 3-12, Mohammed Sohail 3-29 & Zaheer Akhtar with 31 all combined to take the visitors to the top of the table.

Trophy Master Division E

Basford Mill 148-6 shocked high flying East Bridgford 109 all out as Fazeel Arshad struck with the ball taking 5-37, earlier Jamie Rooke 35 and Samuel Greig 33* had laid a solid platform for the hosts in tricky conditions as Tom Hodgson 3-32 & Ryan Stahlberger 3-34 seemed to have put their side in contention until opening bowler Arshad struck.

An unbeaten fourth wicket partnership between Darren Wright 34* & James Toogood 37* steered Calverton 104-3 to victory as they secured the victory over Ravenshead 101-10 in which Ethan Wright took 4-27. A fine spell of 4-22 from P Dobb had seemed to have put Young Lions on the back foot as they were bowled out for just 95 but R Bhaker 3-22 & H Naik 2-13 reduced runaway league leaders Flintham to 77 all out in reply

Lee Morley 78* & Karlos Oakden with 45 helped Lambley post an intimidating total of 187-7 from their 36 overs in which Matt Wharmby took 3-55 and although visitors Ellerslie 127-9 fought hard they lost wickets at vital stages and youngster Ben Martindale 54 batted superbly nearly carrying his bat before being run out at the end of the match. Leaders West Bridgfordians 93-9 stay top thanks to 43* from Pete O’Donoghue and 4-3 from James Flint as they defeated near neighbours West Bridgford Legion 92-9

Popkess Cup 

Winning the toss and electing to bat first West Bridgfordians amassed a formidable total of 213-4 from 45 over in which Andrew Jeffrey top scored with 83 and was ably assisted by opening partner Alastair Pettit 67 but in reply Woolaton 214 -7 went through to the next round thanks to Andy Kirkwood with a fine 75 and 25 apiece from Joe Fish & Alec Cobbett at the business end of proceedings despite the best efforts of Max Loveridge who took 4-44 which included a stumping and two caught & bowled’s.

Raleigh Cup Final

Adil Khan hit a glorious 92 after his side Ruddington were invited to bat first as they posted 165-7 from 20 overs with Ben Smith 3-32 being the pick of the bowlers for Caythorpe and in reply they fell 26 runs short as they were bowled out for 139 with Mohammed Mehmud grabbing the headlines with 5-26 although Matthew Daffin with 44* did keep his side in contention with fine support from the tail enders
