Yaqoob Khan’s hat trick takes Ruddington to the Division G title

“BELL & JEROME” DIVISION A

Balderton set a reasonable total of 217-9 with Tim Clipsham 70 and Jordy Ashby scoring 40 they were restricted by some fine bowling from both David Sears 4-43 and David Pipes 3-40 and then Ali Haynes 97* along with Oliver Dyson 95* guided Collingham 221-1 to a most impressive win and move them out of the bottom two. Thurgarton 100-10 fell to a heavy defeat and now look favourites for the drop after Long Eaton 217-10 took control with contributions from Lee Cuthbert 69, Andrew Edge 37 & 4-28 and Ryan Cuthbert 3-16. Wollaton 213-8 enhanced their own chances of survival and threw the title race open again as they gained a winning draw over Hucknall 189-9 as Joe Fish hit 75 and a fine all round display from Sunil Sharma 45 & 5-54. Joe Bottemley 41 & 4-38 was the toast of Belvoir 141-10 as his eighth wicket partnership with Olly Elson proved to be a match winner as they defeated Gedling Colliery 101-10 for whom Liam Brown took 5-32. John Wakeling 112*, Hamish Moore 74* & Suman Shrestrha all made significant contributions as Ellerslie 256-3 closed on the leaders with a superb win over Notts Unity Casuals 98-10 to once again drop them into the relegation zone with just 2 games to play.

“200 DEGREES COFFEE” DIVISION B

Hyson Green Carrington 231-3 kept up their own promotion hopes and all but mathematically relegated Bottesford 229-10 as both Ethsham Yaqoub 105* & Kaiser Altaf 68* starred in an unbeaten 170 run partnership. Also in contention are West Bridgfordians 209-5 with a winning draw over Kimberley 125-9 as Sanat Kulkarni 65, Alex Sheriston 41 & Ally Pettit 4-19 controlled affairs at Stamford Road. Eastwood 251-5 gave their chances of survival a massive boost as the quartet of Stuart Hill 103*, Ben Buckley 57, Dan Noble 3-60 & Shaun Stocks 3-62 delivered when it mattered most in a high scoring thriller against Wollaton 250-9 for whom Will Rattray top scored with 71. Adam Hugill 58* steered Hoveringham 213-6 to within one win of promotion as they dented Calverton’s 209-7 chances of a swift return to the top flight. The game between Clifton and Wilsons was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

“ROTHERA DOWSON” DIVISION C

Ian Graham 68 & 4-37 starred with both bat and ball as Keyworth 153-4 brushed aside near neighbours Thrumpton 148-9 whose total was helped with 19 wides being bowled. Joe Caunt 115 was the mainstay of Kirkby Portland’s 264-7 as they defeated Southwell 165-10 who remain at the foot of the table despite a fine 61 from Tim Green. Hucknall 180-6 and Gedling Colliery 176-8 switch positions in the relegation dogfight as both Richard Greatorex 43 and Graham Wright 4-44 ensured the outcome will not be settled in the division until the final day of the season. Plumtree 129-3 are now within touching distance of promotion after a convincing win over fellow contenders Attenborough 126-10 as the pair of Steve James 48 & Danyal Bazmi 4-19 took the plaudits. Gotham 32-1 handed out a devastating defeat to Beeston & Toton Sycamore as they bowled the hosts out for a paltry 29-10 as Paul Blatherwick 6-6 and Rob Goddard tore them to shreds and they sit poised in third place with 2 games to go.

“FEET” DIVISION D

Bramcote 282-3 took a giant stride towards both promotion and the title as Tom Chamberlain 101*, Andy Thorne 54*, Alec Watson 52 & Rohan Chauhan (15y.o) 4-12 turned the screw on Newark R & M 87-10 and this result relegates them sadly. An unbeaten 47 from Tom Johnson gave Radcliffe on Trent 124-3 a comfortable win over Sutton Bonnington 120-10 and with two games to their destiny is in their own hands. Underwood 78-4 kept their chances alive with a great win over West Bridgfordians 77-10 as both Rob Flowerdew 5-16 & Craig Smithurst 3-17 stepped up to the plate just when it mattered most. Alan Lewis 76, Ryan Duggan 53 & Usman Aziz 5-19 helped keep Ellerslie 207-10 in promotion contention and keeps East Bridgford 148-10 in a three way battle for the final relegation place. Hickling 164-10 also gave themselves hope as they recorded a comfortable win over Gedling & Sherwood 89-10 as M Robinson struck taking 4-24, they now face a double header against promotion chasing Radcliffe on Trent over the next two weekends.

“TROPHY MASTER” DIVISION E

Dave Summers 53, Martin Worsley 5-15 & Andrew Pearson 4-32 gave Eastwood 107-4 a much needed win over Belvoir 106-10 and moves them out of the bottom two. Dropping into trouble are Wymeswold 201-7 who went down to a final over defeat against title favourites Farndon 203-8 who were steered to the win by Ciaran Logue 52* & 3-70. Charlie Lucas 107, Ross Taylor 66 & Gary Clarke 4-57 kept Collingham’s 237-3 promotion hopes on course with a win away at Kirkby Portland 195-10 for whom Robert Casterton hit a superb 96. Chris Hudson took 6-43 as Basford Mill 169-10 defeated Fiskerton 113-10 and the win pulls them clear whilst it keeps the losers rooted at the foot of the table and with two games to go it sees five teams still battling to stay up.

“GB BOOKKEEPING” DIVISION F

Despite Jeremy Allen taking 6-52 for Long Eaton 162-10 they fell to defeat and suffered relegation as a consequence as Rizwan Mirza 65 & 5-20 starred for Gotham 197-10. Robb Tapp 45* threw the title race wide open as the top two met and second placed Plumtree 109-4 took the spoils over leaders Bingham 108-10. Sam Beale 52, Paul Taylor 63* & Zain Ramzan 4-30 ensured a comfortable win for Kimberley 216-7 over Caythorpe 119-10. East Leake’s recent run of good form continued as they posted 189-7 and Simon Oakley 5-49 then bowled them to victory over Whatton & Aslockton 137-10. Mel Picker 46*, D Cowdell 4-16 & A Hussain 4-23 all performed to keep Burton Joyce 183-5 in the promotion hunt and with this defeat it meant Calverton 82-10 suffer relegation.

“NCSL” DIVISION G

Ruddington 155-10 are crowned champions after a convincing win away at Kinoulton 47-10 as both Kamran Rasheed 51 & Yaqoob Khan 7-18 including a hat-trick gave excellent displays. Caunton 170-10 remain in second place despite a defeat against Bottesford 221-5 who now climb further away from the drop zone thanks to a fine 103 from Jim Ward. Ravenshead 164-8 missed the chance to close on second place as they went down to defeat with three balls to spare against Flintham 165-8. The bottom two met and it was West Bridgford Legion 205-5 who came out on top against Southwell 66-10 as Dave Roper hit 83* and then Rob Rhoades delivered the killer blows by taking 5-2 and the fixture next week against Beeston & Toton Sycamore takes on huge significance.

“JRL ESTATES” DIVISION H

Jack Masters 4-31 & Tom Russell 4-28 bowled Gedling Colliery 130-9 to victory over already relegated West Bridgfordians 122-10 although young Will Cheery bowled well for them taking 4-17. Young Lions 187-10 look assured of promotion with a fine away win over Newark R & M 104-10 as Dinesh Bekan 38, Aniel Potiwal 51, Haljeet Singh Swali 30 and 3-21 & Ravi Digwa 3-13 performed well on the day. A defining 51 from Paul Wilson proved conclusive as Woodborough 170-9 overcame Hyson Green Carrington 158-10. Lowdham 44-2 are promoted after crushing third placed Balderton 40-10 whose own promotion hopes now seem distant the bowlers John Noall 3-4, Justin Graham 3-10 & Chris Hembury 3-16 causing the carnage earlier in the day. Jon Potter 4-41 took the honours in a low scoring match which saw Gedling & Sherwood 130-10 gain a narrow seven run win over Hucknall 123-10.

“CARLTON CAR CENTRE” DIVISION J

Paul Redington hit 65 and Dave Lee took 4-9 as Hoveringham 140-6 secured victory over Cotgrave 122-10 for whom Steven Farrow hit 48. Oxton 135-10 fall deeper into trouble after suffering defeat against Wollaton 136-4 as Nasim Saleem hit 49 for the winners. Attenborough 116-10 suffered a first defeat of the season as Hayden Brooks 5-21 bowled Chilwell 151-8 to an impressive win. The trio of Duncan Tarran 56*, Dhruv Shahi 44 & Chris Soar 43 pushed Keyworth 162-2 closer to promotion and also dented opponents Bramcote 157-9 own chances in the process.

“KING STONE PRODUCTS” DIVISION K

Gino Taj 4-17 And Dale Reeve 3-5 bowled well in order for Lenton Willoughby 88-6 to gain victory over already relegated Chilwell 87-10. The win by Caythorpe 113-10 over Basford Mil 99-10 keeps the Millers in serious relegation trouble with the final game of the season against Underwood taking on major significance. Underwood 114-8 caused a major upset when virtually ending any chance of the title for defeated Stapleford 113-10 as D Naylor took 5-16 in a thrilling victory. Madni 229-8 with Adnan Siddique hitting 81* are promoted and need just 3 points to take the title after another win this time over Basford Old Boys 171-9 who stay in the battle for divisional status. Vic Sharma 4-27 and Delroy Miller 4-38 bowled impressively as Thurgarton 198-6 overcame Kimberley 123-10.

“SIGN SOLOUTIONS” DIVISION L

Ellerslie 126-10 missed the chance to secure promotion after suffering a home defeat against Great Dalby 127-8 as J Picker 32 &  5-30 starred for the visitors. B Middleton 65* & R Beadling 5-31 gave Breaston 157-10 a win that virtually guarantee’s safety but dents the promotion chasing chances of Ruddington 152-10 who fell just five runs short. Gedling Colliery’s misfortune in not raising a side against Kirkby Portland drops them into the bottom two and on paper have two difficult games remaining. Hari Patel with 80 helped Radcliffe on Trent 216-6 to an easy home win over Newark R & M who were bowled out for just 95-10 in 32 overs, Although J Dawn hit 74 it was not enough to save Lowdham 200-9 from defeat as Nazakat Ali again showed what a powerhouse of a batsman he can be this time hitting an unbeaten 121* for Poplars who closed on 203-4.

“ORACLE PROPERTY FINANCE” DIVISION M

Collingham 103-2 stay in second place after a crushing win over Whatton & Aslockton 102-10 as Bill Taylor 54*, Jed Chapple 3-16 & Stefan Taylor 3-16 enjoyed fine performances. Farndon 198-8 stay top with Shaz Butt 43 top scoring in a one sided victory over East Bridgford 56-10 and the final game of the season against Attenborough could see three sides vying for the title. Attenborough 205-1 had Carl Knight 78* and Dave Hams 92 in free flowing form as they defeated a spirited Notts & Arnold 201-4 who themselves had batsmen Andrew Claye 74 and George Dibbs 83* in fine form. Belvoir were unable to raise a side for their away fixture at Wymeswold.

“NCSL DIVISION N

Old Dalby 235-6 are within two points of promotion after recording a huge win over Ellerslie 114-10 with Chris Knott top scoring with 91 and youngsters Alfie Greaves 3-24 and Matt Lindley 2-14 bowling well. James Rhodes 105*, Jamie Bowns 64, David Hoon 42 all batted well but it was down to the ever youthful Martin Huffer to steal the headlines with 6-19 as Beeston & Toton Sycamore 268-2 comprehensively defeated Fiskerton 77-10. Hucknall’s promotion hopes were dealt a blow as they fell to a heavy defeat at the hands of West Bridgford Legion 115-1 as Steve Hopkinson hit a fine 79.
