WEEKLY REPORT 18th July 2015

“Villiers in seventh heaven for Long Eaton”



Long Eaton 61-0 sent out an emphatic warning to everyone in league after they destroyed Collingham 55-10 as Allan Villiers took 7-25 and Lerato Kgoatle hit 48*. Hucknall 216-4 top the league with Robin Maxwell 66* & 3/36, Pete Hudson 52* & Scott Harris 37 all producing the goods whilst a superb 124 from James Taylor was the highlight in Thurgarton’s 215-8. Belvoir amassed a massive 369-8 with Greg Oldfield 188 & 3-32 and Joshua Sharpe 88 leading the way although Wollaton 237-6 held out for a draw with David Barr 100 & Ian Dodd 67 also hitting form. Hamish Moore 104 was the stand out performance in the game of two previous league leaders and Ellerslie 244-6 gained a winning draw as Gedling Colliery replied with 185-8. Balderton 248-8 had another convincing win this time away at Notts Unity Casuals 131-10 Tim Clipsham 67 Alan Jackson 50, Dominic Wiffin 51 & Harry Capstick 5-38 continuing their rich vein of form.


Waheed Kayani 44, Kaiser Altaf, 50, Ethsham Yaqoob 85* & Ikram-Ul-Haq, 4-34 were all instrumental in Hyson Green Carrington 273-7 defeating former league leaders Clifton 122-10. Tariq Mahmood 3-50 & Naleem Ghani 4-23 bowled Wilsons 192-9 to victory as they dismissed West Bridgfordians for 140-10. Sam Ogrizovic 72 & Adam Hugill 4-45 helped keep Hoveringham 199-10 top of the league with a narrow 8 run win over Eastwood 199-9 as Mark Stocks hit 68 and Dan Noble took 5-43 in the defeat .A glorious 129* from Nick Silverwood was the stand out performance as Bottesford 280-5 gained a winning draw away at Wollaton 241-7. Alex Aldred 74 top scored as Kimberley posted 202-10 but the home side Calverton 203-6 strode to victory with C Williamson 48* seeing them home to victory.


Josh Scully 34*,Greg Pick 4-41 & Frank Forman 5-20 all figured as Thrumpton 124-2 dominated proceedings against local rivals Gotham 121-10. Tim Green hit 50 as Southwell 132-10 were beaten by 6 wickets by Hucknall 135-4 for whom Will Spray took 5-31. Steve James blasted a quick fire 72* as Plumtree 124-2 raced to an easy win overcoming the target set by Keyworth 121-10. The trio of Chris Allcoat 76, Jack Harrison 57* & Martin Firbank 32 helped Attenborough 260-4 to a comprehensive win over Kirkby Portland 142-10. Gedling Colliery 214-10 were denied victory as Beeston & Toton Sycamore 195-9 held out for the draw despite a fine spell of 6-50 from Steve Burton.


Sutton Bonnington 176-7 closed the gap at the top as the defeated leaders Bramcote 173-8 a fine 66 from Ross Burns proving decisive in the win. Pete Donoghue 68 & Dave Terrill 3-44 help guide West Bridgfordians 177-5 to the win over Radcliffe on Trent 172-9. Gedling & Sherwood 212-5 travelled home with a win over Newark R & M 211-4. Underwood 164-9 enjoyed the win away at Ellerslie 92-10 as both Craig Smithurst 82 & 3-12  and Rob Flowerdew 5-17 produced the goods but celebrations were a little muted in respect of Ellerslie stalwart John Leaver who was rushed to hospital prior to the game whilst rolling the wicket. S Brownson 65 S Pringle 44 & J Foster 3-18 all figured for East Bridgford 177-6 as they defeated Hickling 176-9.


Farndon 164-3 stay top of the pile as Martyn Hill 79 & 3-34 starred in the win over Eastwood 162-10. Brian Johnson hit a match winning 54* to enable Lenton Willoughby 165-5 defeat Wymeswold 15-5 for whom Paul Brain hit 54. Max Danby 52 & Andy Laughton 51 helped Fiskerton post 241-8 but visitors Collingham 244-6 were guided home with one ball to spare by D Dakin 62 & R Taylor 53. Kirkby Portland 199-8 had Steve Richardson 57 to thank in guiding them to victory over Belvoir 198-10. Asif Hamza took a hat trick in his fantastic spell of 7-20 as Notts Unity Casuals 195-10 easily beat Basford Mill 135-10


Muhammad Niazi 92 & Tony Cook 51* helped Gotham to a fine total of 188-9 but opponent East Leake 190-2 made light work passing the total as Grant Newcombe 91* & Rob Peatman 72 scored freely. Sam Beale 87, Danny Williams 113*, Charlie Walters 46* & Zain Ramzan (14 years) 3-45 stole the headlines as Kimberley 294-4 overpowered Calverton 200-10. Ben Lambourne 76 & 4-50, Jamie Lambourne 43 & Adrian Curzon 35 all had fine performance as Whatton & Aslockton 214-6 beat Plumtree 213-8. Burton Joyce 188-8 had a 32 run home win over Bingham 156-10 with Richard Stanton taking 3-26. Chris Pack with 50 and Chris Garrett 4-26 helped Long Eaton overcome Caythorpe 133-10 in a low scoring affair at West Park.


N Naseer hit 56 as Ruddington 218-8 plundered the points in an away win over Bottesford 142-9. Ben Lumb 50 & 50* from Rick Lumb helped Kinoulton 212-7 to a very convincing home win over Southwell 91-10. Flintham 205-4 won of the very last ball as they scraped home against West Bridgfordians 203-8 as J Cook top scored for the winners with 52. Sam Wagstaff 88, Martin Wilson 76, Stuart Simpson 3-26 & Nathan Suiter 3-29 joined forces as Caunton 244-8 inflicted a heavy defeat upon Beeston & Toton Sycamore 141-10.



Dale Rippey 6-27 ripped the heart out of the opposition batsmen as Lowdham 142-3 emphatically defeated Hyson Green Carrington 141-10. Match winning performances from Rav Digwa 74, Ravi Singh Potiwal 41 & Lakvinder Rathore 3-23 eased Young Lions 218-10 to maximum point in their win over West Bridgfordians 131-10. George Buckthorpe 91* totally hogged the limelight as Hucknall 140-3 blitzed their way to an easy win over Woodborough 139-10. Josh Tranter hit 78 and Stephen Barnett an unbeaten 50 as Balderton 205-3 smoothly recorded the win over Gedling Colliery 204-5. Jon Potter hit a glorious 109* as Gedling & Sherwood convincingly defeated Newark R & M 127-10


The quartet of Naseem Sarwar 60*, Asif Azeem 33 & 3-6, Farhan Saleem 3-18 & Jason Brooks 3-53 were in fine form as Wollaton 167-5 proved too strong for Chilwell 165-10. A fine 74 from Norman Jowett was the backbone of Bramcote’s 244-3 as they defeated Oxton 199-9. In a tense and nail biting finish Attenborough 131-10 defeated Thrumpton 130-9 with Nathan Udall 42* at the finish and the winners will be thanking Sam Henson for his bowling return of 4-45 in the win. Inam Ud Din 31 & 5-13 was the man of the match as Clifton 119-10 won yet another narrow fought victory this time over Cotgrave 102-10.


Underwood 290-7 completely outplayed opponents Basford Old Boys 67-10 and a superb 161 from Mark Lee was backed by Ed Carlton with 44 and Matt Thorley who took 4-12. Ben Smith 118 & Rohit Dwivedi 113 shared an opening stand of 230 as Thurgarton posted 295-3 and in reply only R Parker with 42* made any significant reply as Lenton & Willoughby were bowled out for just 90-10. Adnan Siddique took 7-30 and Saj Akram hit 66* as Madni 139-2 cruised home against Basford Mill 138-10. Dwayne Buckley 46, Neil Gelder 67*, Ciaron Walsh 55 & Josh Buckley 5-2 provided the ammunition as Stapleford 268-10 overwhelmed Kimberley 69-10. Caythorpe took maximum points in the game against Chilwell as they could not raise a side


Breaston 293-7 travelled home in buoyant mood after a resounding win away at Newark R & M 67  with B Middleton 89*,T Colley 89, N Colley 5-22 & Sandeep Verma 2-0 all giving good accounts on the day. Carl Stahlberger 88 & Ekroop Saib 4-36 took Ellerslie 204-4 to the win over Lowdham 199-7 who themselves had T Austin 77 & S James 49 in good form. Ben Johnson struck 72 and then Riley Cliff 4-47 & Willis Cliff 3-7 were destructive as Ruddington 189-6 outplayed Great Dalby 98-10. Once again Nazakat Ali 125 was his side’s highest scorer and team mate Wazim Azzar hit 97 as Poplars 300-5 convincingly defeated Kirkby Portland 158-10. J Peirce 107* & J Towndrow 102 helped Radcliffe on Trent to a total 0f 274-3 and in reply Gedling Colliery 228-7 had D O Donnell top scoring with 79.


Farndon 164-4 stay top after a home win over Burton Joyce 160-10 with David Adwick 56 & Shaz Butt 50 & 4/21 starring whilst Mel Picker hit 68 for the visitors. Thirteen year old Sam France 39 showed his team mates how it should have been done but alas his team Wymeswold could only muster a score of 78-10 and Dan Hazard 50* helped complete a routine 9 wicket win for Whatton & Aslockton 80-1. An emphatic win for East Bridgford 200-8 over Belvoir 63-10 with Dave Fowkes 60, Gareth Carrol 30, David Howarth 45 & Chris Sapey 4-16 all figuring in the win. Thirteen year old Josh Wilson 28* guided Attenborough 128-7 to a narrow three wicket win away at Thrumpton for whom Chloe Towers starred with 21 & 2-34. T Williams hit 60 as Collingham 141-3 ran out winners against Notts & Arnold 140-9.


84* from Robin Whitehead for West Bridgford Legion 159-7 was the overriding factor in his sides win over Ellerslie 156-7. Alistair Fell hit 56 as Old Dalby 111-2 cruised home against Fiskerton 107-10 by eight wickets and remain in top position. Young L Hartland 4-36 starred with the ball for Bingham 120-3 as they ran out winners over Notts & Arnold 119-9.Michael Rees hit a superb 147* for Hucknall 201-5 as they defeated Lambley 200-8.
